Itinerary
Day 1. Karakol - Chon-Kyzyl-Suu
Transfer to Chon-Kyzyl-Suu gorge. The beginning of the track at the hot springs of Zhylysuu (Jilisu). The path will pass through dense spruce forests and a variety of vegetation. The gorge also has a weather station. After two hours, we stop for lunch. After lunch, another 2-3 hours to the campsite. Transition time is generally 4-5 hours. Installation of a tent camp under the Arch-Tor pass. Overnight in a tent.
Day 2. Chon-Kyzyl-Suu - Jeti-Oguz
Breakfast. Having gathered on the second day, we cross the Arch-Tor pass (3850 m high) and go down to the Jeti-Oguz gorge. A little below the pass begins dense juniper bushes, which are taller than a man and in some places close the path from the top and it seems that you are walking along the tunnel. Going down and going a little lower camp setting and overnight. The gorge offers views of the Oguz-Bashi peak 5178m high. Transition time is about 5-6 hours. Overnight in tents.
Day 3. Jeti-Oguz-Karakol
After breakfast, we move forward. We cross the Jeti-Oguz river and go down the gorge. The descent will take about 2-3 hours. The final point is the Kok-Zhayyk pasture where in summer more than 100 yurts are installed. Also not far from this place is the Maiden’s Spit waterfall. Having lunch, you can climb up to the waterfall if you wish. Then we get into the car and drive to Karakol. We will also stop along the road at the famous red rocks of Jeti-Oguz (Seven Bulls).
