Mommy Sonya will glad to share secrets of cooking Kyrgyz traditional food.

Mommy Sonya lives in a village that is 15 km from Bishkek. She is working as an engineer in a textile factory. In free time she loves to cook. Her hobby is to cook different traditional central Asian food. Her parents lived some years in China and from her mother, she learned how to cook not only Kyrgyz food but also food of other nations that live in China (like Uigur, Dungan). She will glad to see you in a kitchen!!!

Lagman is Lagman is one of the most delicious dishes of national Kyrgyz cuisine. The roots of its originations go back to the ancient China, but the recipe had been changing and supplementing under the influence of the culture of Uighurs, Dungans and other nationalities.

The national Kyrgyz dish of besh barmak is eaten with the hands, and this was probably the origin of its name, (besh barmak means “five fingers”). The classic variant of the dish, (which is now prepared basically in the Talas region of northern Kyrgyzstan), requires a good knife – as all the prepared for the dish cutting up the ingredients before it is put on the table.
